Fine Art to Fabric - How we do it

The printing process is a truly incredible and satisfying one. You take a tiny element from a print and a plain length of fabric and transform it into something utterly beautiful. All of this is done using traditional printing techniques and loving printed by hand. We do of course make use of a bit of the 21st century techniques as well.... imagine trying to print large positives by hand....

People are always amazed when we explain to them what goes into printing that seemingly simple looking piece of fabric. Since we are all in a Fish Frenzy at the moment here is how we printed the fabrics used by Homewood for their Intambo Suite...

A Fish new start

So, here we are with this vibrant and fresh new website, which we hope gives a sense of what we are about. Then to top it off we have had this amazing opportunity to collaborate with this really, really... did we say really... brilliant company who happens to be just down the road from us, who would have thought! Homewood create beautifully crafted furniture, I mean stunning stuff (visit their website to see for yourself) and after a morning with them in the studio they went away with the thought of using our Fish Frenzy fabric for a new suite to be launched tomorrow at Decorex Durban. The result is just incredible.
