The original hand cut lino block on the letterpress waiting to be printed onto paper.
Zifundise III by Vusi Zwane
We take an element from the original print and transform it into a textile design.
This is put onto positives, one image per colour, and then exposed onto screens
We would not have a print without the inks!
These are all mixed up according to our 'secret' colour recipes.
The fabric is rolled out down the length of the table. The image and the repeat are
registered on the printing table and the printing begins...
We print every second repeat. Once dry we go back and fill in the blanks.
All this is done by hand by two people.
The second colour way then follows the same process once the first colour has dried.
All our inks and pigments are water based and kind to the environment
The end result is a beautiful hand printed 100% cotton twill fabric!
This printed fabric is then cured as it passes through the curing oven.
